First Day

Did you miss me? I was only gone for a week, but it felt like I left everyone hanging without a new blog post! I took a week off to focus on myself and prepare for my... new job!! Woohoo! I just started, and now I'm on day three of the back-to-office life.

For me, the first-day outfit sets the tone. It’s about feeling confident and bringing in a fresh new era. There's been a lot of "new" this week, and walking in dressed and ready helps me feel grounded and purposeful.

These days, the working world offers so much flexibility in how and where we work—remote, in-office, hybrid; it's all changed so much since Covid. I’m definitely an in-office person, though! Here in Austin, workwear is super casual, maybe too casual sometimes. I love dressing up, and the office gives me the perfect excuse to break out a fun (and work-appropriate) piece to elevate the everyday.

Whether it’s your first day at your first job, a career change, or the start of your retirement year (shoutout to my mom!), make it special. I promise that putting in a little extra effort will make you stand out. Let that spark shine, be open to making new friends and connections, and get excited to do what you’re there to do—work! (Almost forgot I actually have to work and not show off my cute outfit!)
