It’s been almost a month since my last post. I feel a little guilty about the gap, but I’m reminding myself that this blog is supposed to be a fun and creative outlet, not another source of pressure. Life has been a whirlwind lately holidays, parties, travel, and on top of all that, I started a new job. It’s been exciting, and I’m slowly wrapping my head around this new adventure. Things feel balanced (for the most part), and in that balance came Thanksgiving, a trip back home, and diving straight into our holiday party once I returned!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been busy shopping, buying, and wrapping gifts. I’ve also been keeping an eye out for things I want but haven’t felt the need to buy just yet. It got me thinking about creating a list of things I want but won’t buy. There’s no real reason (well, maybe besides the price), but other things are ranking higher on my wishlist. So, here it is, a kinda backwards gift guide!
Marseille Soap- It’s just soap... but square and cool. I saw it the other day at the cutest store here in Austin called Marribu. Honestly, it’s overpriced soap that would look amazing in my bathroom. But I can’t seem to pull the trigger. Maybe if I find a dupe, lol.
9ct Gold Snoopy Necklace- I’m a big Snoopy fan, thanks to my parents, and that love has only grown into adulthood. I recently stumbled upon a 9ct gold Snoopy charm pendant on Etsy. It’s so unnecessary but oh-so-cute. Definitely not in the budget this year, but one day, when I’m really feeling the Snoopy nostalgia, I might just go for it.
"Better Late Than Ugly" Ashtray & Catchall- You’ve probably seen these on Pinterest, TikTok, or even at St. Bernard (one of my favorite stores). These catchall trays have cheeky little quotes with cute hand-painted details. Do I need another trinket tray? No. But I mean...
Marvis Toothbrush and Toothpaste- As I get older, I love the idea of luxury in everyday life—but I haven’t fully committed when it comes to toothpaste. The Marvis toothbrush and toothpaste duo seems like the perfect way to elevate my daily routine. For now, I’m sticking with Crest and my Waterpik. Honestly, I might treat myself to this one after the new year.
Personalized Olive Oil- This would be the perfect gift for the chef in your life—or just someone who appreciates cool, elevated products. Flamingo Estate makes the most amazing stuff, and their custom olive oil is no exception. The packaging is gorgeous, and the fact that you can personalize it with a name or cute quote, just makes it even better. To die for. It’s not something I’d ask for, but it would make an incredible gift for someone special—or a unique event.
To wrap this up, I just want to say how immensely blessed I feel this year. I’ve been lucky enough to travel, spend quality time with my friends, and navigate some really exciting life changes. This holiday season has been filled with newness—new special people, new career adventures, and a fresh outlook on the next phase of my life.
My wish for this Christmas is simple: I hope it treats you well and gives you the gift of time. Time with family and friends, moments to connect, and maybe even a surprise gift you didn’t expect. Also don't worry all the gifts are linked in the post!
Okay, love ya. Bye!
